Biography[]

Season 4[]

Hank Wonham works for the CIA under Carrie Mathison in Kabul, Afghanistan. He informs them that Sandy Bachman has new information for them that could lead them to take down internationally wanted terrorist Haissam Haqqani.

Carrie discusses with Hank the chances of an attack causing civilian casualties, but all Wonham can tell her is that Sandy's information has always been accurate and he's never been wrong, so Carrie ended up giving the order for one drone attack, unaware that she is wiping out a wedding party.

Together they look at the pictures of the remains of the attack. In fact, Haqqani was at a wedding and over forty members of his family were killed. Carrie then fears a retaliation, even though Wonham makes it clear to her that they at least know that Haqqani was among the victims.

When Carrie is pulled from Afghanistan, Hank takes over the base in Kabul. When Saul Berenson is kidnapped, he discusses possible strategies to free him via video conference with Andrew Lockhart.

Season 5[]

Over two years later, Hank is still working for the CIA and is now stationed in Lebanon, where he meets Carrie, who now works as the security officer for the Düring Foundation. He is surprised that Carrie has retired from the CIA and is now working for Otto Düring and believes that this is just a plan by her and Saul to get her into the foundation, which she denies.

Finally, Hank asks Carrie to tell her what influence Waleed, the head of the refugee camp on the Syrian-Lebanese border, still has, but Carrie refuses to answer any questions because she no longer works for the CIA.
