Biography[]
Quinn struggles to cope with recent events. He gets very drunk by the pool at his apartment complex and is confronted by the landlady Eden (Emily Walker) with whom he ends up having sex. When they have breakfast at a diner the next morning, some customers make fat jokes at the woman's expense. Quinn violently attacks them in retaliation and is arrested.
Dar Adal confronts Quinn at his apartment. Eden overhears. They later have a fight and she tells Quinn that he does not deserve what has happened to him.
Reviews[]
Homeland Makes Really Fat Really Sexy. In the entertainment industry, if you want to see really big girls -- the kind we all know in real life -- it's almost always as comic relief. - TOMMY CHRISTOPHER
Conflicted CIA hitman Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) is drowning his sorrows in a lounge chair next to his motel's pool, when into the scene walks Emily Walker, the manager of the motel, who banters with Quinn about his drunken ways. Walker is a crackling presence, but history has taught us that this can only lead to laughs, which is why the scene ends up being such a (PG-13) surprise: That Quinn and Walker end up having sex isn't such a shock, but instead of playing it for laughs by smash-cutting to one of those morning after double-takes, the show actually shows an actual big girl having actual sex, and instead of following that up with a walk of shame, she and Quinn spend the day getting to know each other. - TOMMY CHRISTOPHER
Remarkably, Emily Walker's character isn't shaken by Quinn's sudden coldness. She stands up for Quinn to his face, saying what he experienced in Pakistan, the brutal abduction and killing before his eyes of his colleague, no one should have to go through. Saying she'd be glad to tell his boss that too, if he comes back. His anger melts, Quinn's heart touched, because no one ever stands up for him, which is exactly what she said to him after their initial night together, when he fought for her against bullies in a diner. Landlady's big and beautiful persona attracted Quinn for many reasons that only the writers know, but much of her warmth seems to fill a gaping hole in Quinn's humanness that is only acquainted with death. - Taylor Marsh
Trivia[]
- Although her name is mentioned onscreen she is credited as 'Landlady' in the end credits.

- Eden: I went to the store, you know. There's, um... a, uh, roast chicken in the fridge and some eggs and cereal, you know, to go along with your liquid diet.
- [pauses]
- Eden: And, um... whoever Carrie is... she's a lucky girl.
