Biography[]
Season 7[]
After President Keane faced an uprising from her own Cabinet, Vice President Warner’s signature was the only one needed in able for them to invoke the 25th Amendment so that he could succeed her as President. Keane fires four of her Cabinet members, and is told by Warner that he never intended to sign the Cabinet’s document, something she doesn’t believe, thinking that he would have signed it anyway given that he was “only one signature away” from the presidency. After this, he goes to the Supreme Court to declare Keane’s pre-emptive firing of the four Cabinet members illegal.
After the Supreme Court’s rejection of the dismissal of Keane’s four Cabinet members, Vice President Warner comes to see President Keane in person, to relieve her of her duties.
Following a distress call from Saul at a checkpoint due to the outstanding warrant for Bennet’s arrest, Warner intervenes on his behalf despite Senator Paley‘s advise against it.
After President Keane’s first public address after being sworn in again as President, she announces her resignation, and Warner succeeds to the presidency.
Season 8[]

Quotes[]
“Plunge this nation into crisis or defend it from its real enemies.”
Deserved More: President Ralph Warner[]
President Warner was by far the best President the show had ever had. President Warner was fair and reasonable in character and had a lot of leadership wisdom and experience on his belt. The importance of this was really felt when his less experienced and more gullible successor, President Ben Hayes, was appointed as President.
Warner’s death was not only an unexpected outcome, but it was also unfortunate, as he had traveled to establish a groundbreaking peace deal with the Taliban. President Warner’s work towards achieving peace truly set him apart from the other leaders of the show, which is why he deserved more as a character. - ELIVA ANDRIAMORA
