Summary

Brody is forced to work more closely with the CIA; Carrie continues her hunt for terrorist leader Abu Nazir while maintaining a complicated relationship with Brody that straddles the line between personal and professional (Seems like Carrie's not finished with Brody just yet.); Jessica Brody struggles to keep her family in tact despite increasing difficulty connecting with her husband; Saul discovers a clandestine plot.

"Carrie was really put through the ringer last season," says Danes, on set in July 2012 for episode five in Charlotte, N.C. "She finally gets the credit she deserves."

The stars of Showtime’s hit drama offer a sneak peek at this year’s story arcs.

Claire Danes: “In the first season, Carrie is working toward a climactic breakdown; now, it’s Brody’s turn for some fun. We have our parallel stories that merge in the midpoint of the season, which is similar to what happened in season one. We have unresolved business to tend to here.”

Damian Lewis: “Brody is more knowingly living this duplicitous life this season. And it’s a world of anxiety, paranoia and uncertainty because the rug is always being pulled out from under him. There are enough people who know what transpired or nearly transpired last year, and that’s his problem.”

Mandy Patinkin: “Saul is now a station chief in Beirut, where he’s had history before. He wants to protect Carrie, but he also needs her assistance. This is somebody he loves more than life itself and wants her to get well, but she is critical in the operation that may rid the world of Abu Nazir.

Morena Baccarin: “Jessica has found this new ambition with Brody being a congressman. She’s starting to feel like she has a purpose again. But it gets difficult. She and Brody and the family are in a good place, and then he starts lying and things start to reveal themselves to her that she didn’t expect.”

Morgan Saylor: “A lot of our characters are going through big changes. Dana has started at a new school, a private school, and there are a lot of changes that come with that: new friends, new costumes, new politics. And there’s a new dynamic — an overall different feel — at home with family, too.”

David Harewood: “Now that things are revealed to him about Carrie and her feelings, I feel as though Estes knows what his trajectory is now. By listening to her and others, he has a real idea about how to get Abu Nazir for the first time. And we introduce Estes’ child, which is a wonderful scene.”
