Zuleikha Robinson is an English actress who portrayed Roya Hammad on Homeland.

Biography[]

If the meaning of the first name is 'the beautiful', you also expect a person who has incredible charisma. British-born Zuleikha Robinson has exactly that and lives up to her name. With English, Scottish, Indian, Burmese, Iranian and Malaysian roots, the actress was born on June 29, 1977 in the British capital.

She realized in her youth that she had found her passion in acting and so she eventually moved to Los Angeles to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Zuleikha Robinson got her first role on screen in 2000 in the film "Timecode", which is considered the first film to be shot in just one continuous take and using four different cameras that recorded the action in real time. Although her role in the film was not a major one, she had unique experiences during filming for her career.

Zuleikha Robinson was next seen in a lead role in the short-lived X-Files spin-off The Lone Gunmen, followed by a role in Hidalgo alongside Viggo Mortensen. She played a supporting role in the second season of Rome and landed a lead role in New Amsterdam the following year. However, this series was also short-lived, so Zuleikha Robinson was quickly forced to look for other offers.

In 2009, her film Fist Full of Love premiered, in which Zuleikha Robinson not only acted, but also wrote the screenplay and worked as a producer.

Robinson seems to have struck lucky in her search for roles with the part of Ilana in the hit series Lost. While she played a supporting role in the fifth season, she was promoted to the main cast for the final season of the series. Zuleikha Robinson remained loyal to the series afterwards and appeared in "Homeland" in 2012. In 2013, she landed supporting roles in "Covert Affairs" and "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland". In 2015, she was cast as the lead actress in the third season of the FOX series "The Following".
